denim 70s inspired

Hey guys!

It has been a while but I’m back with another look – this time a denim on denim look or better known as the Canadian Tuxedo. I have been eyeing a pair of flared denim for a while now and found the perfect jeans from Free People. I originally bought a blush pink corduroy pair (which I still want by the way) but thought I should start off with a blue denim wash.

I’ll probably get them in black as well tbh.

I wore this full denim look while attending a friend’s birthday brunch – it was her 30th birthday (one of many milestone birthdays coming up amongst my friends and myself next year) and she requested that all guest be dressed in denim.

This was the opportune time for me to put together a look including my new flared denim jeans and being last minute Linda I decided to stop in one of the local clothing stores by my house and purchased an oversized denim top (similar here) to complete the look and wore it off the shoulder and tied at the smallest part of my waist. Not to mention this accentuated the high waist look I was going for! What I love about these flared denim was the fit. It was the right length and hugged my figure which are all signs of well made denim in my eyes so it was a win win!

Since I wore my top off the shoulder I finished off the look with a choker, fringe bag, and gold jewelry in my messy half crown braid.

For more photos of my looks be sure to follow my Instagram – I share everyday looks and events in my stories too :-).

Are you guys looking to try the flared denim look? For me its a look that never goes out of style! Let me know :-).
