Azealia Banks is a new artist to the general public but not to those that are in the music industry. Having signed a record deal with XL when she was 17 years old, she is undoubtedly a talented artist that struggled to develop her own distinct sound in the industry. Originally from Harlem, she has travel and lived in Montreal and other places which has developed a distinct accent that leaves some mistaking her to be from London.

When she released the video for ’212′ back in September the buzz was so crazy that it got played in Australia, Iceland, & Germany. A PR rep for Karl Legerfeld played her song for him and he wanted her to perform for his party. Legerfeld dressed her, gave her gifts, and even has her performing at another Chanel party in March.

Her story is one of a young girl that was relentless in pursing her love of being a rapper and finally got her big break with ’212′

She will be releasing her first album titled ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’, the actual date of the release is unknown.
