Australian designer Dion Lee had her presentation during London Fashion Week during the weekend and they are minimal yet sexy! No one really took a second look at them until they heard that they were designed by Kanye West! Now there’s speculation that he could be headed in a career as a shoe designer if he isn’t able to get his clothing line to prosper, however the fact that he has people talking anytime he dabbles in designing is enough interest that his craft will always be noticed if not widely respected.
After all the time that he’s spent at Giuseppe Zanotti’s studio and designing, his shoes have been getting the most raved reviews. He has been very quiet about his own clothing plans since his twitter rant….I’m patiently waiting to see what he has up his sleeve.
Last week I had the pleasure of attending Samantha Black of Sammy B Designs fashion show held at Broad Street Ballroom. It was full of excitement and energy as her suprise guest models strutted the catwalk! The intro to her show started with a short video of Sammy B explaining where she draws information from. Once the music dropped I was excited to hear the first song on the mix was ’212′ by Azealia Banks who I’ve been currently obsessed with! Not to mention Toccara from America’s Next Top Model opened the show. Camile from ANTM walks in the show as well. The show was themed ‘Midnight’ and had hues of dark blue, black, and gold sequins and trim throughout many of the looks. Overall the collection was sexy, fun, and vibrant, all which Samantha embodies in person. I managed to tape the whole show so that I can share it with you guys.
This past Saturday I had the opportunity to meet an amazing new music artist named Velous! My good friend Zenova King who is a PR maven to the stars arranged for me to attend his video shoot/ photo shoot and interview him! What I thought would be me jotting down his responses to a few questions quickly turned out to be a video interview which is even more dope because it allows me to formerly introduce him to my readers!
Velous is a multitalented artist that can sing, rap, produce, and play several musical instruments such as the drums, guitar, and piano! I am in complete awe (but really not surprised) of the fact that he wrote his own songs and produced his whole mixtape on his own. I have a few avid music lovers as friends who read the credits of any album before even listening to it to see who wrote and produced what that I now do that! So of course that is the first thing that I did when I got a hold of his mixtape and that equaled me to that ALL CHECKS go to Velous when he blows up! LOL
Aside from that being on the set of his video shoot was just great energy and to see a team that is so dedicated in helping him build his brand image wise for his first video it really was very humbling and inspiring to be in the midst of it all.
The dancers that put together choreography really reminded me of that ‘Crazy Sexy Cool’ TLC era with their moves and wardrobe. Not to mention they were tight with that choreo!

Without further adieu I will now share my first ever video interview with Velous :) He was too humble and so easy to talk to! I was fortunate enough to hear a few songs off the mixtape at the shoot but I cannot wait to upload the mixtape when it’s released to share his talent and hardwork with you guys!
